Introduction

The innovation and entrepreneurship development center was established in 2002 under the title of "Entrepreneurship Center of the University of Tehran" to implement the regulation of UEDP (Entrepreneurship Development Plan in Country’s Universities) approved by the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology in order to promote and develop the entrepreneurship culture in Tehran University.
By expanding the university activities in order to complete the knowledge chain up to industry and the necessity of organizing and marketing the centers and offices which are related to this chain, entrepreneurship center of the university was merged into the Science and Technology Park in 2004. This chain was completed in 2008, by expanding the activities of the center and providing flourishing and innovation hub and its name was changed to innovation and entrepreneurship development center. By expanding quantitative and qualitative entrepreneurship activities in the Science and Technology Park in 2009, the office of innovation and entrepreneurship deputy was established in the park. This directorate is entrusted with the responsibility of entrepreneurship development in the University of Tehran as well as the park. The innovation and entrepreneurship development center together with the futures study and idea development center, entrepreneurship and industry professional consultation center, (industry polyclinic and entrepreneurship) and Professional Library of Science and Technology Park operates under the supervision of this directorate. Considering that other sections of this office will be defined in other parts, in this section, just the innovation and entrepreneurship development center is defined. The activities of this center are in the domains of teaching, developing and consultation in the fields of innovation and entrepreneurship which are being performed through four professional groups of promotion, development, teaching and development of knowledge and entrepreneurial skills", "Entrepreneurial consultation", "innovative cores" and "formulating and developing entrepreneurial strategies"
